medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia expects Indonesia's economic growth in the second quarter of 2016 to be around 4.94 percent.
"Not too different from the first quarter. We hope it could be slightly higher. Maybe around 4.94 percent," said BI Governor Agus Martowardojo at the BI headquarters, Jakarta, on Monday (7/11/2016).
Indonesia's economy grew 4.92 percent in the first quarter. The government and the House of Representatives recently agreed to revise down economic growth projection for this year from 5.3 percent to 5.2 percent.
Agus said that he is still optimistic the government could achieve the target. The parliament has passed Tax Amnesty Law that will boost tax revenue.
"For third and fourth quarter, we already have Tax Amnesty Law. It will help our economic growth," he concluded.
