medcom.id, Jakarta: The World Bank believes tourism development can boost investment and job creation in Indonesia.
"Indonesia has great potential," said World Bank lead economist for Indonesia Ndiame Diop in a written statement on Tuesday (10/25).
Diop advised the government to build more tourism infrastructures. He also underlined the importance of private sector.
The Tourism Ministry plans to develop 10 tourist destinations: Borobudur Temple, Lake Toba, Mount Bromo, Thousand Islands, Komodo Island, Wakatobi National park, Belitung, Tanjung Lesung, Mandalika and Morotai.
Indonesia attracted 10.4 million foreign tourists with foreign exchange income of Rp144 trillion last year.
