medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widoodo (Jokowi) welcomed Swiss Vice President Doris Leuthart at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta. Leuthart leads business delegation comprising of ten Swiss companies.
"The meeting discuss effort to increase economic cooperation. Swiss Vice President brings 10 companies," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/30/2016).
There are at least 150 Swiss companies in Indonesia. Retno said trade between the two countries is increasing each year. "The increase was very high last year," she added.
They also discussed about trade negotiation with EFTA that has been delayed for three years. "We agree to restart the negotiation. This is a significant breakthrough," she stated.
Besides meeting with President Jokowi, Leuthart is scheduled to meet Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution. She will also meet with Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan to sign Air Service Agreement
"Moreover, Swiss Vice President invited President Joko Widodo to visit Swiss. Hopefully we can come to Swiss next year," she concluded.
