medcom.id, San Francisco: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Indonesia needs a lot entrepreneurs to boost its economy. He urged Indonesian youth who study in Silicon Valley, the United States (US) to be entrepreneurs especially in digital sector.
"(It is better to) Return home. Entrepreneur needs hard work, your experience in Silicon Valley could be valuable experience, he said when he met Indonesian students in San Francisco, Wednesday (2/17/2016).
"Now is the opportunity, it might be harder later," he added.
The government has eased regulation in digital economy sector. "It is because we would like to producer Technopreneurs in next five years, or we would be left behind," he explained.
"The value of the business is great, don't let it to be used by other nations," he continued.
The government has issued road map for e-commerce industry. The Ministry of Communication and Information targets USD130 billion in 2020 from the industry.
