medcom.id, Jakarta: PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara stated they are not yet discuss plan by MedcoEnergi owner, Arifin Panigoro, to purchase 76 percent shares of the company worth USD2.2 billion.
Newmont Mining Corporation Group Executive, Omar Jabara, said until there is no discussion yet about the purchase of Newmon's assets.
"Until now there is no discussion about purchase of Newmon't asset that fulfills the criteria," said Omar when contacted by reporter in Jakarta, Thursday (26/11/2015).
Omar explained Newmont receives many interests from other companies to buy Newmont's assets. But his company is still considering the offers.
"From time to time, Newmont receives interests from other companies to but Newmont's assets and Newmont always considers the proposals," he said.
Previously Arifin Panigoro claimed he had taken over 76 percent shares of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara worth 2.2 billion. The statement about the acquisition was given when Arifin visited Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs on Wednesday (11/25/2015).
