medcom.id, Jakarta: The problem of dwelling time at the ports is still on a deadlock. Therefore, the Coordinating Minister of Maritime has urged three related ministries to solve the problem.

Coordinated by Rizal Ramli, the meeting invited the Minister of Industry Saleh Husin, Minister of Trade Thomas T. Lembong and a representative of the Ministry of Transportation, the Director of Sea Transportation Bobby R. Mamit.

Before the event started, Saleh Husin appeared to exit the room, as he asked permission to attend a limited meeting with the president to discuss national electricity. However, he said the impact of dwelling time is great in the field of industry, particularly on the increasing logistic expenses, causing Indonesia to lose its competitiveness.

"Of course I, as the Minister of Industry, knows that our industry wants to have high competitiveness. One of the problems is the logistic fees, which are high enough. This is what we decrease to increase our industry's competitiveness," said Saleh before leaving the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime, Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/25/2015).

He also admitted that the dwelling time problem is not only caused by regulators, as the exporters often submitted their goods first before dealing with the license.

"But the main idea is that I know there are many importers importing their goods first, then take care of the licenses after," he stated.
