medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) Deputy Governor Ronald Waas mentioned that the central bank will launch new banknotes and coin designs in the near future.
"Hopefully we will launch the new banknotes and coins in December," said Ronald in Jakarta on Monday (11/14).
Ronald affirmed the old banknotes and coins will still be valid. BI will replace the old banknotes and coins gradually.
"BI will provide enough time," he continued.
Law No. 7 of 2011 on Currency stipulates banknotes and coins must use national hero pictures.
