Canada Gives Rp145 Billion for Infrastructure Project in Indonesia

medcom.id, Jakarta: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with President Joko Widodo on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Antalya, Turkey last weekend. Both leaders discussed the importance of  strengthening bilateral relations for the two countries.
 
Trudeau and Jokowi shared view about economy including the importance of infrastructure sector and also discussed about democracy and human rights. Trudeau also expressed his worries about about forest fire in Indonesia and offered aid in the form of training and humanitarian aid.
 
In the meeting with Jokowi, Trudeau announced aid Rp145.4 billion to strengthen infrastructure development in Indonesia to push sustainable economic development and eradicate poverty.

"Economic progress in Canada can be realized through ambitious development. Government believes modern infrastructure is the key for healthy economy because it can create jobs, establish more competitive economy and strengthen society," said Trudeau in the release received by Metrotvnews.com, Monday (11/16/2015).
 
Canadian Ambassador for Indonesia Donald Bobiash welcome the aid for Indonesia. "Support from Canada to strengthen Infrastructure development in Indonesia shows Canada helps Indonesia to build its future," said Bobiash.
 
With this aid, Canada supports Ministry of Finance through Accelerating Sustainable Public-Private Investments for Infrastructure Renewal (ASPIRE) project that helps Indonesia prepares law and regulation for public-private partnership infrastructure project.
 
This project is implemented through partnership with World Bank and covers P3 center operation under Ministry of Finance.
