medcom.id, Jakarta: Rupiah weakened against United States (US) dollar in the weekend.
Quoting Bloomberg, Friday (1/8/2015) rupiah weakened to Rp13,922/USD in the afternoon. Wheareas, the currency breached Rp18,000 level in the morning.
Yahoo Finance showed rupiah at Rp13,920 while Jakarta Interbank Spot Dolar Rate (Jisdor) recorded the currency at Rp13,784.
Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) had better performance today as it strengthened in the closing session.
JCI on Friday (1/8/2017) afternoon strengthened 15.84 points or 0.35 percent to 4,546. LQ45 increased 4.27 points to 790 and JII increased 1.1 points to 600.
All sectors were in green zone except for agriculture, infrastructure and trade sectors. The highest rise recorded by consumer sector.
Transaction volume reached 2.41 billion shares worth Rp4.02 trillion. 124 stocks increased, 159 stocks decreased and 93 stocks unchanged.
