medcom.id, Jakarta: Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno mentioned that she is still waiting decision regarding 10.64 percent stake offered by PT Freeport Indonesia to the Indonesian government.
Rini said her ministry has not selected state-owned enterprise to buy the stocks. "We are still waiting the decision," she said at her office, Jakarta, Monday (5/9/2016).
In the beginning of this year, PT Freeport Indonesia offered to sell 10.64 stake at USD1.7 billion. Until now, the government is still evaluating the price.
According to the Government Regulation No. 77/2014, PT Freeport Indonesia has to release 20 percent of its shares this year. The Indonesian government currently owns 9.36 percent stake in the mining company.
The rule stipulates that the shares can be purchased either by central government, regional government, state-owned enterprise, regional-owned company or national private company.
