medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo has instructed his cabinet to lower gas prices no later than January 2017.
"No later than January 1," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/5).
Darmin explained the government will reduce cost recovery. It will also urge gas companies to reduce capital and operational expenditures.
"However, it is not enough, we should also reduce state revenue," Darmin continued.
Previously, Jokowi ordered his ministers to lower gas prices to below USD6/mmbtu.
