medcom.id: Pertamina plans to build several fuel storage and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) terminals in eastern Indonesia.
Pertamina's marketing director Achmad Bambang mentioned the infrastructures mostly will be funded with state budget.
"State budget for four LPG terminals and 15 fuel storage," he said, Jakarta, Friday (4/22/2016).
The new fuel storage will be constructed in Badas, Bima, Waingapu, Maumere, Pare-pare, Merauke, Ternate, Wayame, Masahi, Bula, Dobo, Labuha, Saumlaki, Nabire, dan Namlea. Meanwhile, the new LPG terminals will be at Jayapura, Wayame, Kupang, dan Bima.
Achmad explained the project is intended to fulfill energy demands in the region. "The population is not that big but it has vast territory," he continued.
Pertamina's president director Dwi Soetjipto stated his company ordered by government to develop energy infrastructures in eastern Indonesia. "The government has given us instruction to develop gas infrastructures in eastern Indonesia," he added.
Pertamina's vice president corporate communication Wianda Pusponegoro revealed the groundbreaking ceremony will be held in Jayapura on May 1.
