medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to keep its benchmark interest rate (BI rate) at 6.75 percent. BI also maintained lending facility rate at 7.25 percent and deposit facility rate at 4.75 percent.
BI Governor Agus Martowardjojo mentioned BI 7 Day Reverse Repurchase Agreement also unchanged at 5.5 percent.
"BI observed macroeconomic stability is still under control," said Agus at his office, Jakarta, Thursday (5/19/2016).
"The room for monetary easing can be utilized earlier if macroeconomic stability can be maintained," he continued.
Agus added that BI will strengthen coordination with the government to control inflation. The central bank will also support the government in stimulating growth.
