medcom.id, Surabaya: Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Agus Martowardojo opened the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) at Grand City in Surabaya on Thursday (10/27) evening.
"It is a part of efforts to strengthen Islamic finance sector in the country," said Agus during the opening ceremony.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution and National Development Planning Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro also attended the opening ceremony.
The event is divided into two main events namely Sharia Forum and Sharia Fair. Sharia Forum is intended to discuss Islamic finance sector in the country. Meanwhile, Sharia Fair is expected to introduce the sector to the public.
"The forum will address commercial and social aspects in the Islamic economy," Agus stated.
