medcom.id, Jakarta: The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced the economy grew 5.02 percent in the third quarter of 2016.
BPS head Suhariyanto mentioned the economy cumulatively expanded 5.04 percent in January-September 2016.
"Exports, imports and government spending had negative growth," said Suhariyanto during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday (11/7).
Suhariyanto explained global economic slowdown persisted last quarter. It affected trade between Indonesia and other countries.
He stated China's economy grew 6.7 percent last quarter. Meanwhile, the United States economy expanded 1.5 percent.
