Poverty Is A Challenge for Muslim Countries: Sri Mulyani

medcom.id, Surabaya: Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said there are around one billion people in the world who live under the poverty line.
 
She mentioned that most of them are from Muslim countries. She stated the problem is a challenge for the Islamic world.
 
"It is a challenge for Muslim countries," said Sri Mulyani at the 3rd Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) in Surabaya on Friday (10/28).

She explained Islamic finance industry has great potential in Indonesia. The industry can help reduce poverty in the country.
 
"The assets of the industry increases by 10 percent every year," she stated.
