medcom.id, Jakarta: Bloomberg showed rupiah opened at Rp13,469 per United States (US) dollar on Thursday (2/18/2016), slightly higher than its position yesterday at Rp13,507/USD.
However, rupiah then moved down 111 points or 0.08 percent to Rp13,496/USD. The currency moved between Rp13,457-Rp13,498/USD.
Meanwhile, Yahoo Finance showed rupiah strengthened 30 points or 0.22 percent to Rp13,480/USD.
Samuel Sekuritas analyst Rangga Cipta the announcement of Bank Indonesia's benchmark interest rate (BI rate) could give positive sentiment to market.
"Add with positive sentiment from rising oil prices," he mentioned.
