Gov't Optimistic to Reach Investment Target in Renewable Energy Sector

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources recorded the investment realization in renewable energy sector reached USD867 million in the first semester of 2016.
 
"63.5 percent from this year's target of USD1.37 billion," the ministry's director general of renewable energy Rida Mulyana said in a written statement on Monday (8/8/2016).
 
Rida stated investments in geothermal energy sector reached USD56 million, while investments in bio-energy sector reached USD289 million.

"The target could be reached in the end of the year," he continued.
 
According to him, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has prepared regulations to boost investments in the sector.
 
"For Example, biomass electricity price will be increased to USD13.5 cent per kwh, while biogas electricity price will be increased to USD10.64 cent per kwh," he stated.
