Indonesia Records 0.24% Inflation in May

Metrotvnewscom, Jakarta: The Central Agency of Statistics (BPS) recorded inflation at 0.24 percent. Inflation rate for calendar year (January-May) 2016 was 0.4 percent.
 
"Inflation in May 2016 mainly influenced by food," said BPS Chief Suryamin in a press conference, Jakarta, Wednesday (1/6/2016).
 
Year-to-year inflation rate was 3.3 percent. The core inflation rate was 0.23 percent, while year-to-year core inflation rate was 3.41 percent.
 
Out of 82 cities, 67 cites experienced inflation and 15 others experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Pontianak at 1.67 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Singaraja and Palangkaraya at 0.02 percent.
 
"The highest deflation occurred in Sorong at 0.92 percent," Suryamin stated.
