medcom.id, Jakarta: Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has decided to extend Freeport Indonesia's copper concentrate export permit for five months.
The last permit has been expired on August 8, 2016. The new one will be effective until January 11, 2017.
The ministry's director general of mineral and coal Bambang Gatot said he will send the recommendation letter to the Ministry of Trade soon. "The volume is 1.4 million tons," Bambang told Metrotvnews.com on Tuesday (8/9/2016).
The permit usually is given for six months. Bambang explained the government plans to apply copper concentrate export ban on January 12, 2017.
"Only five months until January 11," he stated.
