Suci Sedya Utami • 05 January 2016 14:42
medcom.id, Jakarta: The Ministry of Finance assessed that Indonesia's position as a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) provides a chance to create an alternative funding resources for infrastructure developments.

The ministry's head of fiscal policy agency (BKF) Suahasil Nazara mentioned that the issue will be discussed after the inauguration of AIIB in the next couple of weeks.

"AIIB will be similar to ADB (Asian Development Bank) and the World Bank, there are protocols and processes. As far as I am informed, they have stated to use the same model as ADB with some modifications," said Suahasil in his office, Jakarta, Monday (1/4/2016).

Suahasil added that until now international institutions that provide loans are ADB and the World Bank.

"Now there is AIIB, so it can be an alternative. It could start in 2016," he concluded.
