medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) Chairman Roesan Perkasa Roeslani admitted digital economy industry is growing rapidly in the country. Investment in the industry has reached USD24 billion this year.
"Investment in Indonesian digital economy will reach USD130 billion by 2020. Moreover, the government plans to produce 1,000 technopreneurs," said Rosan, Jakarta, Tuesday (4/5/2016).
Digital economy is dominated by young entrepeneurs. Therefore, the industry should not be taxed to maintain its rapid growth.
"This industry is dominated by young people. It should not be taxed. In contrary, it should be given incentives," he continued.
Rosan underlined that digital economy has promising future as Indonesian public is getting more accustomed with technology.
"Smartphone users have reached 55 millions with usage duration more than four hours a day. This is beneficial for digital economy," he concluded.
