medcom.id, Jakarta: The government and the House of Representatives Commission XI overseeing finance have agreed on the economic growth assumption for 2017 at 5.1 percent.
The government and Bank Indonesia conducted a meeting with Commission XI on Wednesday (9/7/2016) evening. They discussed about the 2017 state budget draft bill.
The government initially proposed a 5.3 percent economic assumption. However, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati then lower it to 5.2 percent.
In the other hand, Commission XI suggested a 5.05 percent economic assumption.
"I am more comfortable with 5.1 percent," Sri Mulyani said during the meeting.
"Ok, can we agree 5.1 percent?" Commission XI chief Melchias Markus Mekeng asked other Commission XI members.
Other macroeconomic assumptions in the 2017 state budget draft bill are:
- Inflation at 4 percent.
- Rupiah currency at Rp13,300/USD
- Unemployment Rate 5.6 percent
- Poverty Rate 10.5 percent.
- Gini coefficient at 0.39.
- Human Development Index at 70.1
