Eko Nordiansyah • 31 December 2015 16:42
medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) predicted inflation in 2015 will be slightly over three percent. Previously, the number was estimated could be lower than three percent.

"Previously, we estimated under three percent but the realization could be over three percent," said BI Governoor Agus Martowardojo in Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs in Jakarta, Thursday (12/31/2015).

Agus explained the inflation is higher than expectation because some commodity prices increase. Plane ticket prices also influence inflation.

There are several agriculture commodities like chili, onion and chicken egg. There is also air transportation so it will be around three percent," he said,

Moreover, current account balance showed improvement this year. in 2015, current account deficit will be USD17 billion or lower than 2014 which was at USD27 billion.

"In the third quarter, if you see the overall balance, it was deficit. But in the fourth quarter, it was positive because government took foreign loans to improve capital and financial transactions," he explained.
