medcom.id, Jakarta: International rating agency, Moody’s Investors Service, gave Indonesia investment grade status as mentioned by press release from Bank Indonesia.
Moody's put Indonesia at Baa3/stable outlook. There are several key factors behind the decision among others strong financial management of the government.
The status was given in the midst of increasing fiscal deficit and weakening economic growth. Despite the difficulties, Indonesia's economy was still stronger compared to many other countries.
"It underlines acknowledgement for Indonesia's economic strength against the declining economy and global financial volatility," mentioned Governor of Bank Indonesia, Agus DW Martowardojo in the press release.
As information, Moody's previously gave Indonesia the Baa3/stable outlook on January 18, 2012.
