medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo said Indonesia should be able to attract 20 million foreign visitors by 2019.
"My target is 20 million," Jokowi said in Jakarta on Thursday (11/28).
"If we cannot achieve 20 million, I will replace the minister," he continued.
Jokowi mentioned Malaysia and Thailand can attract 24 million and 28 million foreign visitors per year respectively.
"Whereas we have better tourism destinatons," he stated.
The former Jakarta governor explained the government will develop new tourism destinations. The government will also build more tourism infrastructures.
"Tourism sector could boost national economy," he concluded.
