medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian government and the European Union (EU) continue to study the establishment of comprehensive economic partnership agreement.
The EU Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, Vincent Guerend, said European Companies could create 1.1 million jobs in Indonesia if the agreement is agreed.
"European companies are prepared to create more than 1.1 million jobs in Indonesia," Guerend said after meeting with Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Monday (2/15/2016).
Europe currently is Indonesia's main destination for its products, both oil or non-oil products. Indonesia also enjoy trade surplus with EU.
Guerend met with Kalla to discuss various issues. In the meeting, Kalla praised the role of EU in Indonesia.
"Eleven years ago in Aceh, we have worked together on the peace agreement and cooperation to maintain stability and growth in Aceh," he mentioned.
