medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo inspected the Kuwil Kawangkoan Dam project in Kalawat, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
The dam is located on Tondano river. It will be completed by 2019.
The dam will have a capacity of 23 million cubic meters. It will provide water for nearby regions. It will also provide electricity.
"The dam will prevent flooding," the former Jakarta governor said.
"We will also develop tourism there," he continued.
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey and North Minahasa regent vonnie Anneke Panambunan joined the inspection.
