medcom.id, Jakarta: PT Pertamina (Persero) is scheduled to announce the winner of tender to build refinery in Tuban, East Java, on Thursday, May 26. Previously, Pertamina has hinted Rosneft from Russia is going to get the tender.
Pertamina's processing director Rachmad Hardadi mentioned there are four other bidders for the tender namely Saudi Aramco from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Petroleum Inc from Kuwait, Sinopec from China and a consortium from Thailand.
"It is a beauty contest. There are five participants in the beauty contest, Thursday we will announce the most beautiful one," said Rachmad at his office, Jakarta, Monday (5/23/2016).
He affirmed that Pertamina will pick the winner fairly. "It is the largest project with investment value nearing Rp200 trillion," said Rachmad.
Separately, Pertamina Director Dwi Soetjipto also confirmed that the winner will be announced on Thursday. Rosneft is the strongest candidate as it has the most advanced technology.
Last week, Pertamina's vice president corporate communication Wianda Pusponegoro revealed Pertamina and Rosneft have agreed to sign agreement.
"Finalization has been conducted and the partnership between Pertamina and Rosneft hopefully can be signed in Jakarta next week," said Wianda.
