medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that Indonesian foreign exchange reserves rose to USD116.9 billion in January 2017 from USD116.4 billion in December 2016.

"Indonesia's official reserve assets position stood at US$116.9 billion as of end January 2017," BI spokesman Tirta Segara said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

"Higher than the end of December 2016 level registered at US$116.4 billion," he continued.

It was influenced by tax revenues, government oil and gas export proceeds as well as auction of central bank foreign exchange bills.

It was enough for 8.7 months of imports or 8.4 months of imports and external debt repayments.

"Well above the international standards," he stated.
