Economic Growth Will Only Reach 5% in 2017: Economist

medcom.id, Jakarta: Senior economist Faisal Basri said Indonesian economy will only grow five percent next year.
 
"Economic growth is estimated to reach five percent next year," he said on Monday (12/5).
 
He mentioned that consumption will slow down next year. He explained consumption provides the largest contribution to economic growth.
 
"Consumption contributes 56 percent," he stated.
 
Moreover, he criticized current infrastructure development plan. He argued the plan will harm banking sector.
 
"Whereas government spending only contributes 10 percent," he concluded.
