Gaikindo Achieved 1 Million Car Sales Target in 2015

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) achieved one million car sales target in 2015 in the midst of economic slowdown.
 
According to press release from Gaikindo, car sales in 2015 reached 1,013,291 units. It was 1.6 percent lower than the previous year.
 
Gaikindo revealed car sales in the first semester was lower than second semester. The peak season was between August and November 2015. Averagely, 90,000 units were sold every month.
 
Gaikindo implemented several strategies to boost car sales in 2015. One of the strategies by organizing Gaikindo Indonesia Internation Auto Show (GIIAS) 2015 in Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar. 21,658 cars were sold in the exhibitions.
 
"We are proud GIIAS as the only automotive exhibition held by Gaikindo has proved its significant contribution for automotive industry in Indonesia," said Gaikindo chief Sudirman MR in the press release.
 
GIIAS 2016 will be held on August 11-12, at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang.
