medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian government will continue ban on nickel ore and bauxite exports.
"We do not need nickel ore and bauxite exports," said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/18).
"Indonesia has a lot of resources. We do not need to export our resources," he continued.
He mentioned the policy will boost local steel industry. It will also help local electronic industry.
"Nickel ore exports will be replaced with value-added exports," he stated.
The Indonesian government has implemented mineral export ban since 2014.
