medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Exploration Committee (KEN) stated that the East Natuna gas field is more important than Abadi gas field in Masela block.
Secretary General of KEN Muhammad Sani revealed proven gas reserves in the East Natuna gas field is four times bigger than Abadi gas field. He questioned why the government has not tried to take benefit from it.
"Masela only has 10.7 trillion cubic feet (tcf) while Natuna has 46 tcf," said Sani, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/18/2016).
He urged that the gas field must be operational as soon as possible. "The integrated business planning is not yet available. Active role from the government is required," he continued.
Sani explained 1 tcf of gas can power 1 million households. Therefore, the gas field can be the answer for chronic power outage problem in the country.
