medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian rupiah strengthened against the United States (US) dollar on Thursday (5/26/2016). According to Bloomberg, the rupiah was at Rpp13,584.5/USD at 3.59 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
It strengthened 52.5 points or by 0.38 percent compared with its previous close. It opened at Rp13,622/USD.
Meanwhile, Yahoo Finance showed the rupiah at Rp13,547.5/USD at 6.43 PM. It strengthened 69.5 points or by 0.51 percent from its previous close.
Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) recorded the rupiah at Rp13,615/USD.
Research team from Daewoo Securitis Indonesia predicted the strengthening of the rupiah will be temporary. Investors are waiting US Federal Reserve's rate hike in June.
