medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo has instructed his cabinet to lower gas prices in Indonesia
Jokowi said gas prices in the country are around USD9-10/mmbtu. The prices even could reach USD11-12/mmbtu.
"It should be around USD5-6/mmbtu," he said during a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (4/10).
"I don't want we lose against other countries because of expensive gas prices," he continued.
Jokowi mentioned gas prices in Malaysia and Singapore are around USD4/mmbtu. Meanwhile gas prices in Vietnam are around USD7/mmbtu.
"We should simplify the gas supply chain," he concluded.
