KSPI Claims 17,680 Workers Laid Off

medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI) claimed 17,680 workers has been laid off since the end of 2015.
 
"In total, KSPI recorded 17,680 lay offs including workers who were dismissed in 2015 but the process was just finished in the end of January," said KSPI chief Said Iqbal during a press conference, Jakarta, Monday (2/15/2016).
 
Said Iqbal explained 3,668 workers were dismissed this year.
 
Moreover, Said highlighted number of layoffs gathered by KSPI is higher than official number from government. The Minisytry of Manpower only recorded only 1,347 workers dismissed by their companies.
 
"Government is not responsive and does not want to see the facts," he concluded.
