medcom.id, Jakarta: Hundreds of Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) workers conducted a national mass strike by seizing the activities of loading and unloading at the JICT container terminal in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, earlier this morning.
The halt of operation was related to two JICT workers who were fired, as well as the one-sided concession problems or the extension of JICT management, which will be run by a foreign party.
The seizing of loading operational was meant to prevent the sale of national asset with a cheap price to foreign party, as seen at the container terminal of JICT Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Tuesday (7/28/2015).
According to the JICT workers' spokesperson, M. Firmansyah, the operational halt in Tanjung Priok Port include the seizing of vessel service administrations and the export-import loading and unloading services.
Moreover, JICT workers urged the Director of Pelindo II RJ Lino to visit the JICT office, as he was still caught outside the office building due to a request from the police to mediate with the workers. (Eps)
