medcom.id, Jakarta: The number of foreign visitors to Indonesia in August 2016 reached 1.032 million. It increased by 13.19 percent compared to the same period last year.
Central Statistics Agency (BPS) head Suhariyanto said Chinese visitors dominated the number of foreign visitors last August.
"The number of Chinese visitors to Indonesia reached 151,054 last August," he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday (10/3).
Suhariyanto explained Chinese tourists currently can visit Indonesian provinces easily. Many airlines offer direct flights from China to Indonesian provinces.
"For example, there were a lot of Chinese tourists in North Sulawesi," he stated.
