Indonesia's HDI Improves in 2015

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that Indonesia's human development index (HDI) improved from 68.9 in 2014 to 69.55 in 2015. 
 
It increased 0.65 point or by 0.94 percent compared with the previous year. The country is still classed in the medium human development category.
 
"Every components of the index improved," said BPS chief Suryamin at his office, on Wednesday (6/15/2016).

Life expectancy index increased by 0.19 percent, expected years of schooling index rose by 0.16 percent, while mean years of schooling index moved up by 0.11 percent.
 
"Gross national income per capita reached Rp10.15 million in 2015. It increased Rp247,000 compared with the previous year," he continued.
 
Papua province had the lowest HDI at 57.25. Meanwhile, Jakarta province had the highest HDI at 78.99.
