medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian Government is going to attend Organization of Petroleum Exporter Countries (OPEC) meeting that will be held in Doha, Qatar on April 17.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said mentioned that Indonesia as both oil producer and consumer will be neutral at the meeting.

"We should know how to position ourselves. We of course will take neutral position regarding oil price," stated Sudirman at his office, Jakarta, Monday (3/28/2016).

However, Sudirman believes oil price should be increased within sustainable level so it could help oil and gas industry.

"My believe is the price must be strengthened within sustainable level which means the increase will help oil producers but in the other hand it will not create excessive shock," he explained.

Besides oil production, Sudirman will also talk about strategic petroleum reservation at the meeting. He expects OPEC could help Indonesia to realize the program.

"Meeting with oil producers is the right time to convey our intention. We will meet big oil producers there. We will talk whether they want to support us. The terms and condition," he concluded.
