PLN Cuts Electricity Tariffs

medcom.id, Jakarta: State-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is set to reduce electricity tariffs for 12 non-subsidized groups of customers this month following the appreciation of the rupiah and the falling of Indonesian Crude Oil Price (ICP).
 
PLN public relation senior manager Agung Murdiffi mentioned that the rupiah strengthened against the US dollar from Rp13,419.65/USD in May to Rp13,355.05/USD in June.
 
Meanwhile, ICP in June fell USD0.18 per barrel from USD44.68 per barrel in May to USD44.50 per barrel in June.

"Electricity tariffs in August are set to go down," said Agung in a press release, Monday (8/1/2016).
 
The new tariff for low voltage is Rp1,410.12/kwh, tariff for medium voltage is Rp1,084.66/kwh, while tariff for high voltage is 971.01/kwh.
 
PLN divides its subscribers into 37 groups of customers. 12 of them are non-subsidized groups of customers.
 
The 12 groups are:
 
1. Household R-1/ Low voltage 1.300 VA. 
2. Household R-1/ Low volage 2.200 VA.
3. Household R-2/Low voltage 3.500 VA to 5.500 VA.
4. Household R-3/Low voltage 6.600 VA  or higher.
5. Business B-2/Low voltage 6.600VA to 200 kVA.
6. Business B-3/Medium voltage 200 kVA or higher.
7. Industry I-3/Medium voltage 200 kVA or higher. 
8. Industry I-4/High voltage 30.000 kVA or higher.
9. Public office P-1/low voltage 6.600 VA to 200 kVA.
10. Public office P-2/medium voltage 200 kVA or higher.
11. Public lightning P-3/low voltage.
12. Special services.
