medcom.id, Jakarta: The Strategic Food Price Information Center (PHIPS) was officially launched at the Bank Indonesia Office Complex in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Monday, June 12, 2017.
PHIPS is initiated by the central bank. The organization is also supported by the government.
The launching ceremony was attended by Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo. It was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
"Bank Indonesia will use the data to predict the inflation rate," Agus said.
PHIPS will monitor dynamic food price movements. It will also analyze the economic aspects.
