Metrotvnews, Jakarta: At least eight major national banks are ready to implement the National Payment Gateway (NPG) system in July 2017.
"Around 8-10 major banks are ready. All state-owned banks are ready. We will start in July," Bank Indonesia transformation program head Onno Widjanarko said in Jakarta on Monday.
The system will simplify non-cash transactions. It will connect debit card, electronic money card and credit card transactions.
The banks will allocate development costs. They will share investment and infrastucture costs.
"The system will be more efficient with investment sharing," Onno said.
