New OJK Chief to Endorse Lower Lending Rates

medcom.id, Jakarta: The new Financial Services Authority (OJK) chairman Wimboh Santoso is committed to reduce lending rates to increase lending applications.
 
"That is the objective," the former Bank Indonesia official said in Jakarta on Monday.
 
Wimboh mentioned that lower lending rates will boost economic activities. He explained that lower lending rates will bolster investment interests.

Wimboh added that lower lending rates should be achieved carefully. He underlined that lower lending rates should be reached without damaging financial system.
 
"We should promote lower lending rates," the former International Monetary Fund (MF) official said.
 
Previously, Bank Indonesia has recorded that the average lending rate reached 11.9 percent in March 2017.
