medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Mandiri wants to increase its presence in Southeast Asia. The state-owned bank currently has offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Timor Leste.
"We are studying business opportunities in the Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar," said Bank Mandiri corporate secretary Rohan Hafas at Indonesia Stock Exchange Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/3/2016).
"We will survey the three countries," he continued.
The bank also plans to expand its business in Malaysia. It currently only provides remmitance services in the country.
Rohan explained Bank Mandiri will open new branches in Malaysia in the near future. The branches will provide complete services to its customers.
"However, we will still focus on remittance services. We will open branches in the areas which have a lot of Indonesian workers," he elaborated.
