2017 State Budget Intended to Maintain Growth: Sri Mulyani

medcom.id, Jakarta: Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the 2017 state budget is intended to maintain growth and protect the country from global turbulence.
 
The economy only grew 4.7 percent in 2015. It is expected to grow above five percent in 2016.
 
"The 2017 state budget is intended to maintain growth above five percent," said Sri Mulyani durin a press conference at her office in Jakarta on Thursday (10/27).

Sri Muulyani added that Indonesia is an open economy. Therefore, it cannot avoid external shocks.
 
The House of Representatives approved the 2017 state budget on Tuesday (10/26). The growth assumption is 5.1 percent. Meanwhile, the budget deficit assumption is 2.41 percent or Rp330.2 trillion.
