medcom.id, Jakarta: Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro last week conducted a roadshow, or a visit to several countries in Asia and Europe, to introduce and promote sharia-based bonds with foreign denomination (global sharia bonds/sukuk).
From his visit to Malaysia, Singapore, Jeddah and London, Bambang received most questions on the development of the tax amnesty law draft by bonds investors.
"Almost all aspects are being questioned, there are some asking about whether the tax amnesty is applied this year or not," said Bambang in his office in Central Jakarta, Friday (3/18/2016).
In each bonds roadshow, Bambang conveyed the development of Indonesian economy and the policies applied by the government, including the plans to apply tax amnesty.
The application of tax amnesty this year is needed, not only as an addition to the tax income, but also to add the database of the taxpayers who have been neglecting their duties in paying their taxes accordingly, as choosing to place their fund abroad.
On the income, tax amnesty can also be a referral to the government to calculate the potential of tax revenue to be absorbed. It is also reminding that the government is to submit the 2016 Revised State Budget, in which a revision of income target is needed. He hopes the House of Representatives is to discuss the regulation on the next hearing sessions (after the recess).
"We will submit the Revised State Budget if the tax amnesty is clear," Bambang concluded.
