Gov't Welcomes Judicial Review for Public Housing Saving Law

medcom.id, Jakarta: The government welcomes plan from several business people to submit judicial review Public Housing Saving (Tapera) Law which was recently approved by parliament.
 
"It is allowed. If they want a judicial review at the Constitutional Court (MK), be our guest. But for now, the Tapera Law has been legalized," mentioned Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung at his office, Jakarta, Friday (2/26/2016).
 
Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Employers (Apindo) Hariyadi B. Sukamdani plans to file judicial review on the Constitutional Court. Hariyadi argued the new law gives additional burden to the employers and workers.
 
“From all aspects, the law is incorrect. It is a duplication and we will file to the Constitutional Court. Employment social security has been available for 23 years. It gathers Rp180 trillion. It is formulated by the government that 30% of it may be used for housing interest subsidies. How can it be insufficient?" explained Hariyadi.
 
Pramono Anung stated Tapera Law issued so public could have affordable house. "The law may be seen for some, but for most people, it would be good," concluded Pramono.
