BI Officially Releases New Banknotes, Coins

medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) has officially launched the new rupiah banknotes and coins.

"Seven banknotes and four coins," BI Governor Agus Martowardojo said at the BI headquarters in Jakarta on Monday (12/19).

The new Rp100,000 banknote will show the image of Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta. The new Rp50,000 banknote will show the image of Djuanda Kartawidjaja. The new Rp20,000 banknote will show the image of Sam Ratulangi.

Meanwhile, the new Rp10,000 banknote will show the image of Frans Kaisiepo. The new Rp5,000 banknote will show the image of Idham Chalid. The new Rp2,000 banknote will show the image of Mohammad Hoesni Thamrin. The new Rp1,000 banknote will show the image of Tjut Meutia.

Furthermore, the new Rp1,000 coin will show the image of I Gusti Ketut Pudja. The new Rp500 coin will show the image of Tahi Bonar Simatupang. The new Rp200 coin will show the image of Tjiptomangunkusumo. The new Rp100 coin will show the image of Herman Johannes.
